01Terms of cooperation
This information sets out the basic terms of cooperation between the lawyer and the client. By booking a consultation, or by accepting a proposed meeting, the client acknowledges and agrees to the terms of cooperation set out in this Information – including the use of artificial intelligence tools – and in the Code of ethics, which forms part of this Information.
02Focus of the law firm
The law firm focuses primarily on family law and has many years of experience. The lawyer's good reputation and empathetic way of working guarantee the highest professional approach to every client. The lawyer provides services in accordance with generally applicable legislation and the firm's Code of ethics.
If the lawyer identifies a conflict of interest on the client's side, he is obliged to stop providing legal services. The lawyer will end the cooperation if trust in the client is lost or if the lawyer's good reputation is put at risk; the same applies to the client.
03Confidentiality and truthfulness of information
The lawyer is bound by strict confidentiality. This is reflected in the way the lawyer and the client work together, as the lawyer learns confidential and – in family matters – even intimate and sensitive details. It is extremely important to inform the lawyer about the matter as objectively as possible, without withholding or distorting any information.
The lawyer establishes the facts by asking appropriate and necessary questions, through which the facts of the matter need to be established fully and as truthfully as possible. If the client does not provide the lawyer with some of the information (for example because they forget, do not remember or deliberately withhold it), the lawyer points out in advance that this may lead to incorrect conclusions and may ultimately harm the client in the matter or lead to the end of legal representation.
The basic human tendency to present oneself to others in a better light is counterproductive when dealing with a lawyer. The lawyer needs to know both the positive and the negative facts of the matter, which give an objective picture of the situation, so that he can choose the most suitable way to resolve it.
04Case file and documents
The lawyer keeps an electronic, encrypted and backed-up case file. All information is recorded by the lawyer in writing, electronically, during the meeting. The lawyer does not keep any original documents from the client. At the start of the consultation, the client is required to present their identity card, which the lawyer scans into the case file.
05Power of attorney
The lawyer acts on the client's instructions and on the basis of a power of attorney for the matter in question. The power of attorney granted to a lawyer cannot be limited; however, the lawyer always acts only within the subject of the power of attorney and with the client's consent. The written power of attorney is drawn up in digitised form or signed with a qualified electronic signature.
06Working hours and communication
The lawyer's working hours are 8.30 to 16.30 on working days. Outside working hours, the lawyer communicates with the client in urgent cases. The lawyer communicates with the client by telephone and above all electronically, by e-mail or through another suitable messaging application.
Because communication is confidential, it is essential to ensure its security and confidentiality, particularly on the client's side (changing passwords, setting up a new e-mail address or using two-factor authentication for accounts is recommended). The client agrees to communication between the lawyer and the client being recorded.
07First consultation and payments
The first consultation lasts no more than 2 hours and may take place in person at the office or online. Payment can be made in cash, by payment card or by bank transfer. At the end of the consultation, the client is informed in detail about the expected financial and time aspects of our cooperation.
08Use of artificial intelligence tools
In providing legal services, the lawyer uses modern technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) tools. They serve him as an aid – for example in processing and summarising documents, searching case law and legislation, preparing background materials and draft texts, or organising the case file. This allows him to devote more time to the client and to work faster and more thoroughly.
- The lawyer always decides. AI tools do not replace the lawyer's professional judgement. The lawyer personally checks every output and is solely responsible for the content of the legal services. AI makes no automated decisions about the client.
- Confidentiality applies without exception. The lawyer's duty of confidentiality under Section 23 of the Act on the Legal Profession (zákon č. 586/2003 Z. z. o advokácii) applies to all information, including information processed with the help of AI tools.
- Only secure professional tools. The lawyer uses only tools within the firm's secure working environment with contractual guarantees of confidentiality, whose provider may not use client data for its own purposes or for training AI models. Ordinary public chat tools are never used for client data.
- Only to the extent necessary. Only the data needed for the task in question is entered into AI tools; where the nature of the task allows, without names and other identifying details.
- Personal data protection. Data is processed in accordance with the GDPR and the Slovak Personal Data Protection Act; details are given in the section Privacy policy.
By booking a consultation, or by accepting a proposed meeting, the client acknowledges and agrees to the use of artificial intelligence tools under the conditions set out above. If the client does not wish AI tools to be used in their matter, they are welcome to let the lawyer know at any time – an e-mail is sufficient.
