Every family is different, and life also brings situations that go beyond an ordinary divorce or arrangements for the children. I help with inheritance, with the illness of someone close to you and with partnerships of every kind – always sensitively, discreetly and with respect.
01Inheritance matters
- representation in probate proceedings before a notary acting as court commissioner,
- an agreement between heirs on the distribution of the estate,
- inheritance disputes – for example about the validity of a will or whether an asset forms part of the estate,
- preparing a will and taking other steps so that your property passes to those you wish to receive it,
- estates in which a minor child is an heir.
02Court approval of legal acts
Where a parent acts on behalf of a minor child in a matter that is not an ordinary one – for example when selling or giving away the child's property, in probate proceedings or when dealing with more substantial assets belonging to the child – such a legal act requires the court's approval in order to be valid.
- I will assess whether court approval is needed,
- I will prepare the application and represent you in the proceedings,
- I will make sure that the act is in the child's interest so that the court can approve it.
03Illness and legal capacity
When someone close to you is unable to protect their own interests because of a mental disorder or illness, it is important to proceed sensitively and with regard for their dignity.
- proceedings on the restriction of legal capacity and on its restoration,
- appointment of a guardian and matters concerning the guardian's powers,
- protection of the rights of a person admitted to a healthcare facility without their consent,
- representation of the family as well as of the person concerned.
04Particular kinds of partnership, including LGBTI
I respect every family. I help partners regardless of gender or sexual orientation – with complete discretion.
- property relations between unmarried partners and their settlement after a separation,
- shared housing, real estate and loans,
- care of children and contact arrangements,
- providing for a partner in the event of illness or death – a will, powers of attorney and contracts.
Slovak law does not provide for registered partnerships. It is therefore important to secure the partners' mutual rights in good time through contracts and a will.
